Europe's Leading Voices Gather to Discuss Energy Efficiency

Along with alliance members Johnson Controls, The Climate Group and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, GE Lighting is pleased to be partnering once again on a series of roundtables that will explore high-level issues around energy efficiency.

Taking place from 30 – 31 March in Monaco, the roundtables will provide a vital platform for the promotion of energy efficiency policies and business practices, in the run up to next year's biennial Euro-Mediterranean Energy Efficiency Forum (EEF).

The roundtables offer a unique chance for policy-makers, NGOs and business leaders to meet and identify ways to unlock the potential of energy efficiency to address a range of challenges, from climate change and environmental resource pressures to jobs, competitiveness and human health.

This year innovation in technology, online communications and business models will be at the core of the event, which has been titled ‘Bringing Innovation to Energy Efficiency'. The forum will consist of three roundtable discussions, centred on technology innovation, new financing and business models and social meets efficiency – the latter of which will be moderated by Agostino Renna, President and CEO of GE Lighting EMEA.

Following the discussions, delegates will have a chance to consider how these innovations will shape ‘The Road to Paris', referring to the policy landscape in the lead up to the UN Climate Summit scheduled for December in Paris (COP21).

Agostino commented: “The energy efficiency discussion has moved on from simply thinking about switching to lower energy products and systems. The smart possibilities offered by new technology mean we need to think in much bigger terms now, by rethinking business structures and creating intelligent infrastructures that deliver outcome based solutions at the same time as saving energy.”
