GE Lighting preparing for the World's largest lighting trade fair
Our company started the preparations for Light + Building 2012 which takes place between 15th and 20th April in Frankfurt. The first stop of this greatly anticipated exhibition was two Preview Events which were held on 14th and 16th February in Munich and Hamburg.
Light + Building is the world's biggest trade fair for lighting and intelligent buildings. The main theme of the exhibition this year is the increasing importance of sufficient and sustainable use of energy in the modern world and energy efficiency. The Preview event is the first stage of the trade fare where we had one of our first chances to give a sneak peak to our new solutions portfolio to the press, architectural and lighting designers and also to professionals from Germany.
According to feedbacks the reception of our appearance and products itself were positive. This was a great opportunity for us to network with journalists and key players from the lighting industry. Editors from magazines like Licht, Highlight, Smart Lighting & Living and from newspapers like Frankfurt Daily, the L&B trade journal, already indicated that they would like to make interviews with leaders from GE.
After the Previews our company was invited to participate in Hamburg's Trend-Talk that was moderated by Markus Helle, editor- in-chief of Highlight magazine. Trend-Talk is a roundtable organized by the press on topics like dynamic changes on the Lighting market and how the market changes due to LED. GE was represented by Axel Bach who was accompanied by K. G. Vennemann, CEO of Osram and Nik Schweiger, famous German architect and designer. The roundtable was yet another great chance to discuss important topics in the industry.
There is still two months till the start of Light + Building 2012, but the whole industry is already in fever. And just as in recent years, we are going to be there, bringing more fuss than ever. Our booth will be bigger than ever, and will be equipped with novelties like live streaming, huge LCD screens, and of course with our latest products and solutions.
