ErP legislation - driving energy savings for a greener future
As EU regulations drive the obsolescence of traditional incandescent lamps, users are being encouraged to switch to eco-friendly bulbs. We offer a wide range of solutions to help you light up a greener world, including halogen, compact fluorescent and rapidly evolving LED lamps.
GE Lighting is fully committed to helping customers reduce carbon emissions through more energy-efficient lighting solutions.
Driving energy efficiency
As a member of the European Lamp Companies Federation, we have helped develop a number of new energy-efficient regulations now being implemented. Among these is the Energy-related Products (ErP) Directive, which sets minimum performance and efficiency standards for, among other areas, non-directional household lamps (DIM1).
- Minimum energy efficiency requirements
- Bulb performance (e.g. lifetime and light output)
- Product information to be included on packaging and official websites
We continue to work on upgrading and enhancing our halogen range to ensure full compliance with the ErP legislations (life, lumen upgrade, D class to C class) in line with the timetable set out below.
